Terms of Service
Effective date: 25 February 2026 | Last updated: 18 September 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Zride platform — including the Zride mobile applications for passengers and drivers, the website zride.in, and any related services (together, the “Platform”) — operated by Asli One Global Private Limited (“Zride”, “we”, “our”), a private limited company incorporated in India under the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN: U62011TN2026PTC190105; GSTIN: 33ABFCA0187P1ZF) with registered office at 309/3, Yasmin Nagar, Vedhanarayanapuram, Ozhalur, Tirukalikundram, Kanchipuram 603111, Tamil Nadu, India.
By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which together form the agreement between you and Zride. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms are published in compliance with Rule 3(1)(a) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and Rule 5 of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
1. Nature of the Platform
Zride is a technology platform that connects passengers with independent auto-rickshaw drivers. Zride is an “intermediary” under section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and a marketplace e-commerce entity under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. Zride is not a transport service provider. Transport of passengers or parcels is provided directly by the driver, who is an independent contractor and not an employee, agent or partner of Zride.
Accordingly, the contract for the ride is entered into between the passenger and the driver. Zride's role is limited to discovery, matching, communication, safety tooling, grievance redressal, and collection of its own platform fee.
2. Fare, platform fee & total price
The total amount you will pay is shown on the booking screen before you confirm. It has only two parts:
- Fare (paid to the driver): calculated on the auto-rickshaw tariff notified by the Government of Tamil Nadu (minimum fare, per-kilometre rate, night charges between 11 PM and 5 AM, and waiting charges). The fare figures displayed in the app follow the notified tariff; where the notified tariff changes, the notified tariff prevails. The passenger pays the fare directly to the driver by UPI or cash. Zride does not collect, hold or handle the fare.
- Zride platform fee (Zride's only charge on a ride): currently ₹5 per ride for autos, inclusive of GST at 18%. It is shown separately on the booking screen. The passenger pays it to the driver along with the fare, and Zride debits it from the driver's platform balance when the ride is completed. No other convenience, booking, service or payment charge is added.
- Peak-hour surcharge: during high-demand windows a multiplier may apply to the fare. It is always displayed on the booking screen before you confirm, and it never exceeds 1.5 times the base fare, the maximum permitted under the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2020. The entire surcharge goes to the driver.
- Waiting charges and tips: waiting charges (as per tariff) and any tip you choose to add go 100% to the driver.
- Zero commission: Zride takes no commission or share of the fare, surcharge, waiting charges or tips.
- GST: Zride does not charge GST on the fare, because the fare is a payment from the passenger to the driver. GST applies only to Zride's own platform fee, which is quoted GST-inclusive. A GST tax invoice for the platform fee (GSTIN 33ABFCA0187P1ZF) is available in the app under the ride receipt and on request from support@zride.in.
3. Eligibility
- You must be 18 years or older and legally competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- Drivers must hold a valid driving licence with the transport endorsement, a valid registration certificate (RC), fitness certificate (FC), contract-carriage permit, and the cover for the vehicle that the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 requires, and must complete Zride's onboarding verification.
- You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep it updated. One account per person.
4. Passenger obligations
- Pay the fare and the platform fee shown at booking to the driver promptly on ride completion, by UPI or cash.
- Behave respectfully; do not abuse, harass, or endanger the driver or other road users.
- Do not carry contraband, illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous materials.
- Rate the driver honestly after each ride.
- Personal belongings: you are solely responsible for the safety of your belongings inside the vehicle (phone, wallet, bag, keys, documents, packages, parcels, valuables). The driver's primary duty is the safe operation of the vehicle and cannot watch passenger items at all times. Always check the seat and floor before exiting.
4.1 Forgotten or lost items
If you discover that you have left an item in the vehicle:
- Use the “Left behind” button on your post-ride receipt screen, or contact Zride support within 24 hours of ride completion.
- Zride will make a reasonable, best-effort attempt to coordinate with the driver and return the item — typically by arranging a return trip in which you pay only the metered fare (no platform fee).
- Zride acts solely as a coordinator and assumes no liability for the loss, damage, theft, or non-recovery of any item left in a vehicle. The Platform does not guarantee successful recovery and is not financially responsible for the value of any belongings.
- For high-value items (jewellery, electronics, large sums of cash, legal documents) we strongly recommend you keep them in your direct physical custody at all times during the ride.
5. Prohibited content and conduct
Wherever the Platform lets you submit information — your profile, saved addresses, parcel descriptions, ratings, reviews, chat or support messages — you must not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share anything that:
- belongs to another person and to which you have no right;
- is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, libellous, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating to or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws of India;
- is harmful to a child;
- infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- deceives or misleads the recipient about the origin of the message, or knowingly and intentionally communicates any misinformation or information that is patently false and untrue or misleading in nature;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or incites the commission of any cognisable offence, or prevents investigation of any offence, or insults another nation;
- contains a software virus or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
- is patently false and untrue, and is written or published in any form with the intent to mislead or harass a person, entity or agency for financial gain or to cause any injury to any person.
This list reflects Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Zride may remove such content and suspend or terminate the account concerned, and will co-operate with lawful requests from government agencies. You must also not attempt to bypass the Platform (for example by arranging off-app rides with a driver you met through Zride), reverse-engineer the apps, scrape data, or interfere with the Platform's security.
6. Driver obligations
- Drive safely, follow all traffic laws, and keep a clean, well-maintained, roadworthy vehicle.
- Carry the passenger (or parcel) directly to the stated destination by a reasonable route.
- Charge only what the app shows — the government-notified tariff plus the displayed platform fee. No negotiation, no refusal of short trips, no demand for extra money.
- Comply with the Zride Driver Guidelines (cleanliness, conduct, dress, no intoxication, no use of a handheld phone while driving).
- Keep a valid driving licence, RC, FC, permit, pollution-under-control certificate and the cover for the vehicle that the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 requires, at all times. Keeping these documents current is the driver's own legal duty; expired documents lead to suspension from the Platform.
- Do not stay logged in and driving for more than 12 hours in any 24-hour period; the app enforces a mandatory break, in line with the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2020.
- Keep a sufficient Zride platform balance to receive ride requests, and honour the auto-debit mandate for the daily platform fee until it is cancelled.
- Treat every passenger with respect regardless of gender, religion, caste, disability or destination.
7. Safety and aggregator responsibilities
Zride follows the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2020 issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under section 93 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the rules made by the Government of Tamil Nadu under that section. In particular:
- Driver verification: every driver's identity, driving licence, RC, permit and FC are verified before activation, and drivers complete Zride's in-app training on safe driving, conduct and the use of the app. Drivers must obtain police verification as the Guidelines prescribe and produce it to Zride on request. Vehicles must meet the age and fitness norms set by the Tamil Nadu transport authority.
- SOS and trip sharing: the passenger app carries an in-ride SOS button that alerts Zride's support team and the passenger's saved emergency contacts, and lets the passenger call the emergency number 112. The passenger can also share a live trip link (driver name, vehicle number, route) with chosen contacts.
- Live tracking: every ride is GPS-tracked from acceptance to completion; the route and timeline are retained for grievance and law-enforcement purposes (see the Privacy Policy).
- Fair pricing: fares follow the government-notified tariff; the peak multiplier is capped at 1.5× the base fare; cancellation charges are capped as set out in section 8.
- Two-way ratings and conduct enforcement: see section 11.
- Control room and grievance: Zride operates a support desk reachable in-app, by WhatsApp at +91 81109 08008 and by email at support@zride.in, and a Grievance Officer (section 16).
8. Cancellation
Cancellation of rides is governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In summary: cancellation is free while a driver is still on the way, and any cancellation charge that applies after the driver has arrived (or when a driver cancels without valid reason after accepting) is limited to 10% of the estimated fare, subject to a maximum of ₹100, as permitted by the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2020. Cancellation charges paid by a passenger go entirely to the driver; Zride takes no share.
9. Zride Parcel Service
- Small personal packages only, for personal (non-commercial) use. The driver may decline a parcel they cannot safely carry.
- Prohibited items: cash, gold, perishables requiring more than 24 hours of transit, illegal substances, fragile goods without protective packaging, weapons, and anything the law prohibits from being carried.
- Maximum declared value per parcel: ₹2,000. Zride's liability for a parcel is governed by section 13.
- Senders must enter the receiver's name and phone number. An OTP is generated and must be given to the driver by the receiver on delivery. The sender is responsible for informing the receiver; Zride does not send SMS.
10. Driver platform fee
Drivers pay a flat daily platform fee (currently ₹20 per active day for auto-rickshaws, inclusive of GST at 18%) and the per-ride platform fee described in section 2. Current fees are shown on the Products & Services page and in the Zride Partner app before any mandate is set up. Key terms:
- Free period: a new driver pays no daily platform fee until Zride is busy in their area, for up to 90 days from activation. The exact end date is shown in the app. During the free period the per-ride fee collected from passengers is also not debited from the driver.
- The daily fee is charged only for a day on which the driver completes at least one ride.
- The daily fee is collected by Asli One Global Private Limited by a secure recurring-payment mandate processed through our RBI-authorised payment aggregator, or by debit from the driver's platform balance.
- A GST tax invoice for daily and per-ride platform fees is available in the Zride Partner app and on request.
- Fee changes are notified in the app at least 15 days in advance and never apply retrospectively.
11. Two-way rating & code of conduct
Passengers and drivers rate each other after every ride. Accounts that repeatedly receive poor ratings, behavioural complaints, or verified safety incidents may be warned, suspended or permanently blocked from the Platform. Before any permanent block you will be told the reason and given a reasonable opportunity to respond through the Grievance Officer. Zride does not post, edit or manipulate reviews and does not accept payment for ratings.
12. Intellectual property
The “Zride” name, logo, marks and all Platform content (software, design, text, graphics) are the property of Asli One Global Private Limited and protected under Indian intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Asli One Global Private Limited's aggregate liability to any user for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) ₹500 or (b) the sum of Zride platform fees paid in respect of that user in the ninety (90) days preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Zride is not liable for the acts or omissions of drivers or passengers, who are independent parties to the ride contract. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Asli One Global Private Limited, its directors, officers, employees and agents from any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, the Driver Guidelines, or applicable law, or have endangered the safety of other users. Under Rule 3(1)(c) of the IT Rules, 2021, we may also terminate access for non-compliance with these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from in-app Settings or as described on our Delete your account page.
16. Grievance Officer and redressal
